We met at 10 pm at Terminal 1 Row 2 of the airport for our Emirates flight. The Queenstown Chinese Methodist Church pastor came to send us off and he led us in prayer for a safe journey and blessed trip. All our checked-in luggages were tagged with purple and white ribbons. One tour guide from a Singapore travel agency, Palm Travel, Jenny Teo, came with us.

They kept feeding us … three meals on the plane. It was a wonder we could keep eating. I usually eat anything, but I was quite put off by the spicy fish and milk rice combo I chose for my second meal. The milk rice came in a white tight rectangular slab and I thought it was the fish. The fish was actually a most unappetizing sight: cubes of fish smothered by a black speckled sauce.
